Due to scheduled maintenance work, Buffalo Sewer will be temporarily discharging using our Primary Treatment outfall.
Prior to discharge, solid material will be removed from the sewage through physical treatment and the discharged water will be disinfected.
This same system was used for over forty years throughout the middle part of the twentieth century and successfully eliminated typhoid and other water borne diseases from the drinking water of downstream consumers.
This work is expected to take up to two days and has been approved by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
